How It Began
AppliedHE was founded in 2020 by Mandy Mok after years of working with university leaders across the region. The same issues kept appearing: employability that was difficult to evidence, alumni networks that were underused, and rankings that did not always reflect what institutions truly did well.
Traditional consulting often offered expensive advice without enough practical support. AppliedHE was created to offer something more useful: practical tools, clearer evaluation, and hands-on partnership.

Mandy Mok is the Founder and CEO of AppliedHE. With decades of experience in higher education branding, rankings, and institutional strategy, she has worked closely with university leaders across Asia and helped shape AppliedHE around the realities institutions actually face.
I did not want to build another company that hands over a report and disappears. I wanted to build something that actually helps.
